Protective Glazing Systems

Femenella & Associates has extensive experience with a great variety of site conditions. The principal of the company was the consultant to a national study of 120 protective glazing systems throughout the United States and has written extensively on the subject.

Protective glazing systems can be very beneficial to the health and long life of stained glass windows. However, if incorrectly installed, an adverse micro-environment may be created that can actually accelerate the rate of deterioration of the stained glass rather than protect it. Proper design of a system is very site dependant.

We are leading our field in the design, fabrication and installation of isothermal protective glazing systems considered by the international conservation community to be the ideal setting for stained glass. Femenella and Associates is well versed with the installation of blast mitigation systems in historic structures as well. Let us design the proper system for your windows.
